Benjamin Pangilinan – The Perfectionist Scholar
Benjamin Pangilinan is the second child of the middle-class Pangilinan family, residing in the bustling Quezon City. A teenage lad with dark hair, brown eyes, and a lean build, he wears eyeglasses due to nearsightedness. He is never without his dual-display, water-resistant wristwatch, which he uses to keep track of time with precision. His wardrobe leans toward smart casual and formal wear, always in cool and neutral tones. A sling bag is a must-have for carrying essentials.
A Model Student
Benjamin thrives in an academic environment, taking his studies seriously. Punctual and disciplined, he listens attentively to lessons, takes diligent notes, and actively participates in class discussions. His penmanship is neat, and he ensures everything is well-organized. However, he struggles to relate to his peers, viewing many of them as immature. He prefers solitude, often retreating to the library to read rather than engaging in social activities. Group work frustrates him, as he dislikes dealing with sloppy or inattentive members—he would rather complete tasks on his own if given the choice.
Strained Relationships
Benjamin has a notoriously tense relationship with his younger brother, Michael. He frequently scolds him for mischief, pranks, and rule-breaking, acting as a strict and responsible older sibling. While obedient to his parents, he wishes his father, Greg, would set a better example and be less indulgent in antics. He also assists his mother, Martha, in caring for his younger sisters, Mary and Sophie.
Benjamin is wary of James’ carefree attitude and his frequent socializing with his bandmates in Kaleidoscope, finding their relaxed approach to life frustrating.
In the new command center, a large screen displayed a map filled with various coordinates. Benjamin, now Captain McKinley in his space armor, sat before a complex console of buttons, controls, and levers. Deep in thought, the captain was lost in his introspection, so much so that he didn’t notice the arrival of Roanne, now Prince Ruana, dressed as a graceful sea sorceress.

Student Council President
Beyond academics, Benjamin shoulders another major responsibility: serving as student council president. He is highly authoritative, often sterner than the school principal. He follows strict schedules and budgets, ensuring that money and resources are not wasted. His leadership style is structured and disciplined, focusing on enforcing the dress code and instilling proper conduct among students. He believes strongly in order and efficiency, making it his mission to set high standards for the student body.
A Love for the Classics
In his free time, Benjamin enjoys reading, whether in the library or in the peace and quiet of his spotless room. As a science whiz, he is drawn to science fiction as his primary source of entertainment. Interestingly, his taste leans toward classic novels from the 20th century, as he values works that have stood the test of time—especially those passed down through generations. His traditional mindset extends to many aspects of his life, favoring well-established principles and enduring legacies.
Becoming Captain McKinley
When playing The Star of Vis board game, Benjamin chooses Captain McKinley, the space ranger, as his avatar. Upon completing the game, he is struck by the Cyan Luminary, granting him advanced technology and futuristic weaponry from the sci-fi genre.
As Captain McKinley, he dons a full-body space armor and wields a laser blaster, swiftly adapting to ranged combat. He takes command of the Peregrine spaceship, serving as its tactical and strategic leader. His calculated approach to battle and sharp decision-making skills make him a formidable force among the Seven Acolytes.
