Overview:

RPG paladin Cerulean Arlentis (Topher) and magical girl Love Fey (Allison) team up for two missions: resolving a malfunctioning LRT train and responding to a raging tenement fire. Meanwhile, Bee Girl (Sophie) encounters Bumblebee, a small yellow ball-shaped robot who, like her, has also wandered into the spaceship’s basement. Elsewhere, ROBO3000 forcibly enlists Uncle Ronald as the new mechanic of Peregrine Headquarters, ensuring the ship’s upkeep. The towering humanoid robot also works behind the scenes to cover up the team’s heroic activities from Captain McKinley.

Topher brought his four fingers together, with his thumb folded at a right angle. “In nomine Patris” (In the name of the Father), he recited, as he conjured the northern part of a glowing crucifix, pointing north with a warm white light. “Filii” (Of the Son), he continued, conjuring the southern part of the crucifix below, glowing as it pointed south. “Et Spiritus Sancti” (And of the Holy Spirit).

He then conjured the western and eastern parts of the crucifix, extending his left and right hands to the sides as they glowed, pointing west and east respectively. Both hands held the traditional sign, with his index and middle fingers raised, while his pinkies and ring fingers were tucked into semi-clenched fists, secured by his thumbs. Topher then clasped his hands together, and the cardinal points of the crucifix merged into one shining ivory cross. A whirlwind of angelic feathers engulfed him, followed by flashes of white and golden light.

When the sequence ended, the paladin emerged—holy knight, crusader—wearing a winged helmet, armor plated in silver and gold, wielding a holy sword, and draped in a glorious white cape.

Standing side by side, Allison (left) crossed her arms, one leg stepping forward, facing front but angled slightly to the left, while Topher (right) held his unsheathed blade in his right hand, his left bracing a heraldic shield. He faced front, angled slightly to the right. They stood together on the roof deck of the Peregrine spaceship.

It was an ordinary day at the light-rail transit (LRT) station. Passengers arrived, waited patiently, and boarded as the train came to a stop. A security guard, equipped with a loudspeaker, watched over the crowd, occasionally issuing reminders or warnings to those who became unruly. The train compartments were especially crowded during peak hours, typical for Metro Manila’s busy, yet efficient, form of transportation, offering a speedy escape from the relentless traffic below.

Everything seemed normal until the train ride turned unpredictable—brief bumps, slowdowns, and abrupt stops. Passengers sighed in relief when the train regained its usual pace, but a much bigger problem was on the horizon. At the next station, where a fresh crowd eagerly awaited their turn to board, the train didn’t stop. It barreled past the platform, leaving the passengers and security staff bewildered. The same thing happened at the following stations. Panic began to set in as those on board realized they were trapped in a train that wouldn’t stop.

An angry elderly man marched up to the operator’s cab and threw open the door.

“Are you out of your mind, young man?! Why aren’t you stopping?” the old man demanded.

“I’ve lost control!” the operator admitted frantically.

“Did I hear you right?!” The old man was stunned.

Suddenly, the train lurched forward, speeding up and jerking violently, sending waves of fear through the passengers. Some clung tightly to the poles, while others sat nervously in their seats or dropped to the floor in fear. Through the windows, they saw something extraordinary—gigantic, shimmering pink hearts floating in the air. As they watched, the hearts slowly began to decelerate the train. Outside, on the tracks, stood Love Fey (Allison), her magical girl form stepping delicately from stone to stone as she controlled the magical hearts.

Despite her efforts, the train still wouldn’t come to a complete stop. Just as the passengers were about to lose hope, Cerulean Arlentis (Topher) appeared, unleashing blasts of holy light from both hands. His force fields, though struggling to contain the momentum, eventually brought the runaway train to a halt at the next station.

Tenants ran and screamed as the fire rapidly spread through the tenement. Some fled for their lives, while others desperately tried to salvage clothes and belongings. A few brave souls attempted to douse the flames with whatever water they could find. Thick smoke rose above the building, darkening the sky. Amid the chaos, a group of looters took advantage of the situation, ransacking the abandoned apartments of their neighbors. But Love Fey (Allison) wasn’t about to let them get away with it.

“Bullies, repent and retreat this instant!” Love Fey commanded, her voice sharp and authoritative.

“What can a girl in a costume for a children’s party do against us? Hahaha!” The leader of the looters taunted, his mocking laughter echoing in the smoky air.

“What can I do?” Love Fey responded with a smirk. “Something like this—Flying Kisses!”

With a flourish, she unleashed her attack: a flurry of red, heart-shaped projectiles that sparkled pink before exploding into showers of rose petals. The looters fell to the ground, unconscious, surrounded by petals and fully formed roses.

Two bystanders, wide-eyed with amazement, whispered, “Brute Beauty!”

From that moment on, Love Fey earned her new moniker, ‘Brute Beauty.’

Meanwhile, inside the tenement, a man fought his way through the blazing inferno. Pressing a damp towel to his mouth and nose, he limped as quickly as he could, his white shirt stained with ash and dirt. His surroundings blurred with heatwaves, sparks, and embers. The air was suffocating, and his face was streaked with soot and blood. Just as a burning plank from the ceiling threatened to fall on him, a shimmering white forcefield appeared, protecting him from harm.

“Are you okay, sir?” Cerulean Arlentis (Topher) asked, steadying the man within the spherical forcefield.

“Thank you, boy. I owe you my life,” the man said, his voice filled with gratitude.

“I need to get you out of here,” Cerulean replied, scanning the burning room.

The small crusader conjured waves of shimmering ivory light, which miraculously extinguished the surrounding flames. With a simple wave of his hand, he purified the air, sending glowing white-gold ripples through the smoke. Once the fire was under control, Cerulean released the forcefield and helped the man out of the burnt apartment.

“This isn’t enough. The fire needs to be completely extinguished,” Cerulean resolved, eyeing the rest of the building.

In his moment of need, a majestic white-winged horse appeared on the rooftop, answering his call.

“A Pegasus?” Cerulean marveled.

The winged horse approached him, its eyes filled with understanding.

“Are you saying you can help?” Cerulean asked, sensing the horse’s intention.

“I need to ride you,” he realized.

Climbing onto the Pegasus’s back, Cerulean and his divine companion soared into the sky, twisting through the air like a turbo-charged whirlwind. The Pegasus’s radiant white-golden light trailed behind them, sweeping through the tenement and extinguishing the flames completely as they spiraled upward into the sky.

“That was one thrilling ride, buddy,” Cerulean said with a grin.

The Pegasus neighed joyfully, flapping its wings in delight. Together, they floated in the clear blue sky, high above the world below.

The winged pony and his rider, Cerulean Arlentis (Topher), descended onto the rooftop of a nearby apartment building. The paladin boy gracefully stepped down to the ground, scanning the area. Love Fey (Allison) arrived shortly after, her face painted with worry. She rushed toward Cerulean.

“I thought you were gone! I couldn’t find you in the fire,” Love Fey said, her voice thick with tears.

“I’m alive and okay, as you can see. There’s no need to worry anymore,” Cerulean reassured her, offering a warm smile to cheer her up.

“I’m so glad!” Love exclaimed, unable to contain herself as she hugged her cousin tightly.

Nearby, Becky, a Filipina-American of African descent with a stout frame and a bob-cut hairstyle, signaled eagerly to her cameraman. With her cowgirl vibe, she said, “Come on, this is a scoop!”

Cerulean gently patted Love’s head as she clung to him. “It’s alright now, no need to cry.”

Becky bit her knuckle, her hopeless romantic side taking over as she imagined the scene as budding puppy love. She gleefully directed her cameraman to capture good shots of the ‘romance.’

Breaking the embrace, Cerulean took Love’s hands in his. “I’ll always protect you and be by your side. You’re the sister I never had.”

Allison smiled brightly. “Thank you, that means so much to me. To me, you’re the brother I always wished for.”

“Am I interrupting something?” Becky suddenly waltzed into the scene with her cameraman in tow.

“I’m Becky, by the way. Becky Davies, the new and upcoming reporter from ABS-CBN—ever beautiful!” she introduced herself cheekily, earning a scoff from her cameraman.

“I see, you’re a little couple in love,” Becky said, drifting off into her romantic daydream.

“Ew, gross! We’re first cousins, you know,” Love cringed, visibly creeped out by Becky’s misunderstanding.

Becky’s face twisted into a grimace, sourer than paksiw (a Filipino dish simmered in vinegar), as she realized her mistake on live TV. The young, handsome cameraman grinned sarcastically.

“Our moms are really close. Maybe that’s why we’re so close too,” Cerulean added quickly, offering a forgiving smile to the flustered reporter. “It’s okay, Ate Becky. Everyone makes mistakes.”

“I was just saying that our moms go shop—” Cerulean began, but Love quickly cut him off by blocking Becky’s face with an impromptu heart construct, soft and bouncy.

Love covered Cerulean’s mouth with her hand and whispered fiercely, “Do you really want to give away our identities that badly?” Her glare was sharp.

“We’re not talking about our moms,” Love said aloud. “8888-8888, that’s the hotline for our spaceship, Peregrine. Our housekeeper robot, CleanBot, will answer. You can schedule interviews or press conferences with him. I’m personally open to movie auditions and casting calls.”

Becky frantically jotted down the number, while the cameraman Gido thought, How hard is it to remember 8888-8888?

The fire brigade – firefighters on their truck – and paramedics arrived at the aftermath of the fire at the tenement.

“Hmmm, I’ve been walking in circles around these pipes and large fans… I’m truly lost,” Bee Girl (Sophie) sighed to herself.

Behind her, a gleaming yellow ball rolled unnoticed. Sophie took turns down random paths—right, left, forward, and back—each choice leading her deeper into the labyrinth of pipes. Unbeknownst to her, the yellow ball followed closely, rolling along adjacent hallways and mirroring her every move.

“Why do I have the feeling someone’s following me?” Sophie wondered, a faint suspicion creeping in.

The yellow ball crossed an intersecting path, but Bee Girl had disappeared from sight.

“A yellow ball… moving on its own?” she whispered in a frightened tone.

The ball suddenly stopped, lifted slightly off the ground, and began to transform. Two curved, flat pads detached from its sides like ears. A black screen opened across the front, and two large, electric green ovals appeared, resembling eyes.

“I’m sorry if I scared you. I was just curious—it’s the first time I’ve seen anyone else down here in the pipes,” a voice emerged from the floating, spherical yellow-and-black robot.

“You’re a robot too? Like CleanBot and ROBO3000,” Sophie said, her curiosity piqued.

“I don’t know those two. Yeah, I’m a robot. My name’s Bumblebee. And you are?” the spherical robot introduced himself, tilting his head slightly as if awaiting her answer.

“I’m Bee Girl… well, that’s my alter-ego. My real name is Sophie,” she responded sincerely.

“Nice to meet you, Bee Girl. Since you’re in costume, I’ll stick with your superhero name for now,” Bumblebee decided with a cheerful tone.

“That makes sense,” Bee Girl agreed, smiling.

“I’ve been wandering around these pipes for two months,” Bumblebee admitted, his voice tinged with a bit of embarrassment.

“And you’ve never gone to the surface of the spaceship?” Sophie asked, puzzled.

“This is a spaceship? And there’s an upper floor?” Bumblebee sounded stunned.

“Yes, there is! I’ll take you with me to see it. I’ll introduce you to my cousins and the rest of the crew—they’re really nice,” Sophie promised with enthusiasm.

“Sounds great! But first, we just need to figure out how to get out of here,” she added thoughtfully.

“I’m sure we can figure it out if we work together,” Bumblebee said confidently. From a small side door on his head, he extended a retractable hand toward Bee Girl for a handshake.

“You have a hand? Alright, we’ve got this!” Bee Girl giggled as she shook Bumblebee’s hand, showing her occasional bubbly side.

Uncle Ronald, wearing a tank top and shorts, drove his tricycle—a three-wheeled local vehicle with a motorbike and passenger compartment—down the road. Unfortunately, he got a flat tire. Ronald stepped off the motorbike to see what went wrong.

“This sucks, I got a flat tire,” he muttered in frustration.

How will I get back home? Ronald thought, worried.

With no other option, he pushed his tricycle to the side of the road, where the ground was covered with low grass. Standing there, he leaned against his motorbike, lost in thought.

“What do I do now?” Ronald said, confused.

When he turned to his side, he spotted something unusual—a pentagon-shaped portal just steps away!

“What is that? That shape… it looks like Piattos!” he exclaimed, referring to the popular local snack, hexagonal chips. “And it’s swirling and glowing. A glowing Piattos!”

“Let’s check it out,” Ronald said, walking closer to the portal.

“How did you get here?” he asked, though he knew the inanimate object wouldn’t answer.

“You’re some kind of door or gate, aren’t you?” Ronald continued, slowly piecing things together. “If you are, there must be something—a place—on the other side.”

“Ronald, don’t do it. You don’t know what’s out there,” he debated with himself.

“Maybe… I’ll just dip my finger in to test it,” he decided. And so, he did.

“It went through!” he exclaimed, feeling a moment of triumph—until, suddenly, his whole arm got stuck.
