–Topher, wishing to the Star of Vis; Chapter 2: Meteor Show — Wish Upon A Star
Across the Atlantic Ocean, in the United States—specifically in Austin, Texas—resides the Kennedy family, a wealthy Filipino-American household living in a grand Neoclassical mansion.
The family patriarch, Dr. William “Bill” Kennedy Jr., is a distinguished cardiothoracic surgeon and the CEO of Archangel Raphael Medical, Inc. His wife, Atty. Selena Kennedy (née Pangilinan), is a CPA lawyer specializing in corporate tax regulations. Overseeing the household is Mr. Carlisle Worthington, their cultured and gentlemanly butler.
At the heart of the family is their only son, Christopher “Topher” Kennedy III. With brown hair, bright blue eyes, rosy plump cheeks, and a tall frame for his age, Topher is the quintessential golden child. His interests are vast—he is a geography buff who can label all 50 states on a U.S. map, a soccer team captain, and a cellist who performs in recitals. He is also a Boy Scout, an altar server at children’s Mass, and a devoted RPG (role-playing game) enthusiast who keeps a journal filled with his thoughts and experiences.
Topher looks up to his father, seeing him as a role model, while Selena, being protective of her only child, sometimes struggles to rein in her worries. Bill, however, encourages his son’s independence, fully supporting his adventurous spirit. Their butler, Mr. Worthington, affectionately calls Topher “Bud” or “Buddy”, driving him to his Renaissance Revival-style school. Later, the family welcomes a German Shepherd named Hunter, whom Topher enjoys taking on outdoor adventures, especially playing Frisbee.
Beloved by his teachers, Topher is the kind of student who earns applause from his classmates. As the soccer team captain, he is so admired that his teammates occasionally lift him onto their shoulders after victories.
Topher has an insatiable love for learning. He is a voracious reader, and it’s not uncommon to see books stacked on his desk and shelves. However, his greatest passion is adventure—he thrives in the outdoors and enjoys camping, already possessing basic survival skills. Geography fascinates him, and he dreams of traveling the world, meeting people from all walks of life. Above all, Topher is an eternal optimist—he sees the bright side of life, believes in endless possibilities, and always envisions the bigger picture.
The Wish That Changed Everything
Three years ago, Topher visited the Philippines to reunite with his relatives on his mother’s side. What was supposed to be an ordinary beach outing turned out to be life-changing. Under a meteor shower, he made a wish upon a shooting star—that he, his cousins, and their new friend Roanne could become heroes from the stories they love. Not just from a single tale, but from various genres, media, and franchises—TV shows, movies, comic books, video games, and more.
Three years later, his wish comes true. Together, this unlikely group transforms into a superhero, a magical girl, a cartoon character, a K-pop idol, a mermaid, a space ranger, and a paladin—all in the real world.
But Topher’s wish did more than grant them new identities—it made him the Keeper of the Star of Vis (“wish” in Latin). This celestial artifact, in its dormant state, appears as a pendant, but when awakened, it transforms into a radiant blue-white gem encircled by gray rings, resembling a floating astrolabe. Whenever he summons it, his eyes glow and a magic circle forms on his palm—a spectacular sight. Initially, Topher is the only one who holds the key to their transformation, but unwilling to monopolize this power, he creates six shards, each serving as a transformation mechanism for the other Acolytes.
Becoming Cerulean Arlentis
Topher assumes the role of a Paladin—a holy knight, a crusader—like the fantasy classes from his RPGs. His armor is a majestic fusion of silver and gold, adorned with a billowing white cape. He wields a sheathed holy sword and carries a heraldic shield bearing the Christian cross.
As Cerulean Arlentis, the persona he selected in the Star of Vis board game, he can cast holy magic—smite foes, heal the wounded, and protect his allies. He fights only when necessary, guided by a strong sense of justice and mercy.
His loyal steed is Cielo, a majestic white-winged heavenly pony, steadfast and unyielding in battle.
