Main Cast

The Seven Acolytes

The space ranger, K-pop idol, mermaid, magical girl, superhero, cartoon and paladin.

Lead Cast

Protagonist: Ser Cerulean Arlentis

Christopher ‘Topher’ Alexander William Kennedy III

Ser Cerulean Arlentis, known as Cerulean, is a paladin and crusader in silver-gold armor, wielding a holy sword and shield.

I imagined the nine-year-old Topher pre-time skip as Colton Burpo (played by Connor Corum) in Heaven is for Real (2014). But Connor is already 17, a grown teenager. I hope the child actor who would play Topher,9, looks like Connor.

I imagined the twelve-year-old Topher post-time skip as the younger Levi Miller around Pan (2015). But then again, Levi is already 22 — a young man! I hope, too, that the child actor who would play Topher, 12, looks like Levi.

Yeah, I know, Topher is a Fil-Am (Filipino American) boy. But the thing is, he also looks white (Caucasian). You would only know he’s half-Filipino if you meet his Filipina mom. Hence, in my imagination, are white child actors from the past.

Cielo

Cerulean’s loyal steed is Cielo, a majestic white-winged heavenly pony, steadfast and unyielding in battle.

This one, I think, would make use of CGI animation oftentimes. And also, the production team needs to find and train a German Shepherd dog to act for Hunter, Cielo’s more real alter-ego.

Deuteragonist: Captain McKinley

Benjamin Matthew Macatangay Pangilinan

Captain McKinley, commander of the Peregrine spaceship, is a skilled space ranger wielding a laser blaster and wearing full-body space armor.

Honestly, I have no idea about the child actor who could play Benjamin, 13 (pre-time skip).

I imagined Benjamin, 16, (post time-skip) as Joshua Garcia. He can really play the nerd/smart guy vibe as seen in his portrayal of Innocencio ‘Inno’ Cortes in Ngayon at Kailanman (2018).

Innocencio ‘Inno’ Cortes in Ngayon at Kailanman (2018).

Joshua is already 27. He is still in his 20s so I think, he can still pull-off high school role.

I originally envisioned McKinley as more Indian-looking but actually Filipino and Southeast Asian. You know, when you look like another race. But I cannot think of any current Filipino actor of Indian or South Asian descent who can be as convincing as how Joshua played Inno.

MAurI&S.E., Jr.

McKinley’s full body space armor has its own AI, MAurI&S.E., Jr.. Think of it as the lite version of MAurI&S.E., the AI system integrated to the team’s headquarters: the Peregrine spaceship. I can hear the space armor’s AI as sounding like the Ember male voice of OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4o.

So, the voice actor should take note.

Tritagonist: Oppa Rockstar

Jameson ‘James’ Macatangay Pangilinan

Unbeknownst to many, Jameson “James” Pangilinan is also Oppa Rockstar, a K-pop idol with music-based powers.

I also don’t have an idea of which teenage actor could play James, 14 (pre-time skip).

Michael Sager

I imagined James, 17, (post time-skip) with the face of Michael Sager, 22. Come on, the guy got that charming smile! I pick Michael not for any specific role he played but it’s more about his real-life personality that lands closely to Rockstar.

Just like with McKinley, Rockstar is supposedly a Filipino lad who looks like Korean without any known East Asian parent or relative. But still, I’m going for Michael. More than the race, it’s the potential portrayal that I gave more weight. Hopefully, this Filipino Canadian can pass decently as Oppa on-screen.

Main Cast

(4th) Main Character: Princess Ruana

Roanne Reyes Mallari

Princess Ruana has two forms: the mermaid and the sea maiden. As a mermaid, she glides swiftly through the sea with her shimmering sea green tail. As the sea maiden, she stands gracefully in her seafoam green and lavender dress, holding her lunar scepter.

To be honest, I don’t have idea myself which teenage actress could convincingly play Roanne, 15.

My personal choice to play Ruana, 18, (post-time skip) is Ms. Bianca Umali. The actress is currently 25. A morena beauty, I saw her portray probinsyana or promdi girl really well. Given that Roanne is a coastal town young woman.

Ruana/Roanne is similar to Sahaya, the titular character portrayed by Bianca Umali back in 2019. Bianca was in her element with water. She can swim and her underwater scenes were great.

Gabbi Garcia as Alena in Encantadia (2016)

For Ruana’s singing voice, I’m picking Ms. Gabbi Garcia. She is currently 26. She played Alena, a warrior princess who keeps the mystical water gem, brilyante ng tubig. Gabbi sang the love theme song Maghihintay with Christian Bautista for the requel.

(5th) Main Character: Spartan

Michael Macatangay Pangilinan

As the superhero Spartan, Michael wields powers tied to heat, solar energy, and plasma. He has superhuman strength, speed, and flight, along with heat vision and can unleash scorching waves.

Honestly, I also don’t have idea, too, of who can play Michael, 11 (pre-time skip). It has to be a child actor who is Filipino Chinese. As Michael is Chinese-looking. A bonus if the child actor has a beauty mark or a mole on his right cheek. Plus, that tan complexion.

Michael or Spartan, 14, (post-time skip) is a riddle to me. I cannot drop a name.

(6th) Main Character: Love Fey

Allison Samantha Pangilinan Sevilla

Secretly, Allison leads a double life as Love Fey, the Mage of Love and Beauty. As a magical girl, she wields love-based powers like “Flying Kisses,” “Love Shock,” “Love Chains Rising,” and her ultimate move, “Love-Me-O-Babe!”

It eludes me as well of who’s gonna play Allison, 7 (pre-time skip) and 10 (post-time skip). It needs to be two child actresses who are both mestizas. Love Fey is fair-skinned, that pinkish white complexion you can probably see in Eskinol and other beauty soap and product commercials.

(7th) Main Character: Bee Girl

Sophia ‘Sophie’ Macatangay Pangilinan

In her double life, Sophie becomes Bee Girl, a half-human, half-honeybee superheroine. With her antennae, she can sense danger; her ultraviolet vision lets her see hidden details, and her rapidly flapping wings enable swift flight.

Cannot tell the two child actresses who can portray Sophie, 4, (pre-time skip) and Bee Girl, 7, (post-time skip). Sophie is envisioned as Arabiana looking without an outright Middle East lineage and ancestry. So, there is that. And, I would love for the child actresses to both have those big, expressive eyes.

Bumblebee

Bee Girl’s loyal robotic companion, Bumblebee, hovers by her side.

This one is sure CGI-animated.
