The Scarlet Luminary is the first plane of the Visean Cosmos—the closest to the Star of Vis and the fastest in its orbit. This blazing celestial body radiates a fiery brilliance, tinged with intense shades of red and orange.
At the climax of the boardgame, during the Cosmic Cataclysm, the Scarlet Luminary is unleashed as a colossal, sentient entity—a living star with will and wrath. As the cave collapses, Michael is the only one who makes it out… only to be ambushed by the Scarlet Luminary. It strikes him head-on, branding him with its power.
His eyes ignite with a scarlet glow, matching the blazing aura that now surrounds him. Waves of scorching heat erupt from his body, so intense they vaporize the heavy rain around him—steam rising beneath the fury of a roaring thunderstorm.

Superheroes (Red Paperboard)
Kyriakos Sakellaropoulou, also known as Spartan, is a Greek American and a proud first-generation immigrant in the United States. As a soldier in the American army, he discovered in his early 20s that he was one of the thousand mutants born at the start of the 21st century. Kyriakos is part of the Heroes Program, led by Senator Ricks, aimed at cultivating superpowers to benefit society. He chose the alias Spartan, paying homage to Ancient Greece’s warrior city-state, Sparta. While Spartan fights crime and battles supervillains, he also grapples with a rising genocidal ideology threatening humanity’s future.
Spartan
He wears a sleek headgear that frames his face, extending just halfway down his jawline on both sides. The back of his head is fully covered, but the top and face remain exposed—leaving his expression free and fierce.
His gold-and-red bracers encase two-thirds of his forearms, forged in bold symmetry. His suit is a sleeveless, maroon-red spandex, tailored for agility and strength. At his waist, a golden belt gleams—its centerpiece a proud lion’s head, mounted atop a band of laurel leaves encircling his midsection like a wreath of victory.
Across his chest, acrylic-styled pecs and abs are molded into the spandex, stylized armor that adds to his imposing form. Completing the look, he dons a pair of high boots that rise close to the knees—sturdy, timeless, and built for battle.
Transformation: Battle Cry — Spartan!
“Spartan!”
Michael Pangilinan calls out his alter-ego, his voice cutting through the storm like a battle cry. He crosses his arms tightly over his chest, fists clenched with fiery resolve—then slams them down to his sides, planting his stance.
In that instant, scorching scarlet heat waves erupt around him, swirling in tight rings of flame and fury. The air ripples with power as the waves close in, merging with his body in a blaze of transformation.
His civilian form is engulfed—recast in streaks of red light—as a muscular, sleeveless maroon spandex suit is forged around him. The armor seals in place, gleaming with heroic might.
The warrior has arrived. The Spartan stands ready.
Golden and red bracers
Spartan wears gold-and-red bracers—wrist guards that extend along two-thirds of his forearms. More than just ornamental, these bracers are forged to deflect bullets with ease, shielding him from enemy fire.
Superpowers
Superhuman Strength: Spartan possesses immense physical power—strong enough to snap handcuffs, bend steel bars, and hurl a full-grown bear several meters away. He can lift automobiles and boulders with ease, his strength unrivaled among his peers.
Superhuman Speed: Blazing across the battlefield at supersonic speeds, Spartan becomes a scarlet blur, leaving behind a streak of red light as he races past the eye’s ability to follow.
Nigh Invulnerability: With a battle-hardened constitution, Spartan can endure heavy blows, brutal impacts, and severe trauma. From deep wounds to near-lethal falls, he recovers fast and fights through punishment most couldn’t survive.
Heat Vision: Scarlet laser beams erupt from his eyes, capable of cutting, searing, and burning through steel. A precise and deadly ranged attack when brute force isn’t enough.
Vortex Generation: By circling a target at incredible speed, Spartan creates a miniature twister of wind and debris, trapping foes in a scarlet spiral that chokes off air and leaves them disoriented or unconscious.
Flight: Spartan can soar to extreme heights, maneuvering through the clouds and flying shoulder-to-wing with airplanes in the open sky.
Superhuman Sight: His vision extends far beyond human limits—able to spot a bird in flight from the ground, or even detect a snake slithering on land from the sky above. Nothing escapes his gaze.
Solar Energy: Spartan can channel and control the sun’s golden rays, forging them into weapons of pure light—swords, spears, and shields inspired by ancient Spartan warfare.
Plasma Embodiment: He can transform into a living being of plasma—fiery orange in form, with glowing white eyes and a radiant aura. In this state, he can launch himself at blinding speed and detonate in a controlled explosion.
Accelerated Healing: With enhanced vitality, Spartan recovers from grievous injuries in days or weeks, where others would take months or even years to heal. His resilience keeps him in the fight long after others fall.
Weapons
Aegis
The Aegis is Spartan’s signature shield—a round, golden relic forged in homage to ancient Sparta. At its center lies an ornate eight-ray sun, a radiant emblem of power and heritage.
But beneath the brilliance lies a terrible secret: within the sun is hidden the decapitated head of Medusa. The shield’s core can open like a chamber, revealing Medusa’s petrifying gaze.
If an enemy dares meet her eyes—they are instantly turned to stone.
Zetes
Zetes is Spartan’s trusted weapon—a short sword with a golden hilt and a tempered steel blade. Designed for close-quarters combat, the sword balances elegance with lethality.
With natural aptitude in melee, Spartan wields light blades like Zetes with remarkable speed, precision, and control, making him a formidable force in hand-to-hand battle.
Calais
Calais is Spartan’s golden spear, tipped with razor-sharp steel. In close combat, its extended reach gives him a tactical edge—keeping enemies at bay while striking with precision.
When the moment calls for it, Calais can also be hurled from a distance, turning into a swift, surprise projectile capable of catching opponents off-guard with deadly accuracy.

Lasso of Valor
Spartan wields a golden-glowing lasso, imbued with radiant energy. When spun, it whirls with unbroken momentum, allowing him to trace and retrace his path—even through the heart of a labyrinth. A tool of precision, memory, and motion, it’s as mystical as it is tactical.

Spartan is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, trained to fight with blistering speed and punishing strength. He trades punches with precision, strikes with powerful kicks, and attacks relentlessly, overwhelming opponents with sheer force and momentum.
But he’s not just brute power—Spartan is sharp and tactical, capable of executing surprise maneuvers that catch enemies off-guard. He thinks fast, adapts on the fly, and fights with only one goal in mind: victory.
