Six-month Countdown

During a violent storm, seven children take refuge in a cave and begin playing a mysterious, otherworldly board game. Topher is the final player to reach the crystal ball at the board’s center, seemingly ending the game—until a cosmic twister erupts from it. The resulting quake forces the children to flee, but Topher and Benjamin are trapped in the cave-in. In the darkness, they come face to face with two massive celestial beings. The story then rewinds to six months earlier, chronicling the everyday lives of the kids, teens and their families leading up to this fateful night.
In the countryside, Emily prepares daing na bangus for the family’s breakfast. Ronald resumes work as a tricycle driver after breakfast with his aging parents. Al checks in on his sugarcane fields with his right-hand man. Ellie, a housewife, visits her parents for a brief home makeover. Her husband Ansel supervises a construction crew. During this time, Ellie learns that she has PCOS, a condition that will make it difficult for her and Ansel to have children—a moment that adds quiet weight to their otherwise ordinary lives.
Meanwhile, the Pangilinans live a middle-class life in Quezon City. Greg opens the car accessories shop while Martha settles into the faculty room. Their son Benjamin excels in science class and reads Dune during his break. James strums Ed Sheeran songs on the patio on weekends. In the same household, Sophie watches SpongeBob SquarePants and draws with her crayons, Mary tends the balcony garden, and Michael, in a Superman tank top, plays basketball in the yard. On Intramurals Day, James joins the boy band for the opening act while Michael competes on the court for the Red Lions.
Over Holy Week, the Pangilinans, Sevillas, and Agoncillos gather to tour Intramuros. The elders explore historical landmarks like Fort Santiago and the Rajah Soliman Theater. Allison Sevilla strikes poses beside LEGO replicas for social media, while her cousins visit the Jose Rizal Museum. The Pangilinan brothers sneak into underground dungeons for a ghost hunt. Their day ends with a shared family dinner at Las Casas, capturing a rare moment of unity across generations and branches of the clan.
The Sevillas are an affluent family based in the Makati Central Business District. Enrico, the father, is a hedge fund manager who caters to VIP clients. Thalia, the mother, runs her own beauty salon. Their daughter, Allison, occasionally books modeling gigs and enjoys the spotlight. The family employs an all-around maid named Morissette, who also serves as Thalia’s assistant and acts as Allison’s chaperone. Allison, a spirited and sassy girl, is an avid fan of magical girl anime. On their free days, the Sevillas usually go shopping. Meanwhile, Selena—currently living in the United States—keeps in touch with the grandparents through regular Skype video calls.
Rounding out the cast is the Kennedy family, an affluent Filipino-American household based in Austin, Texas. Selena, a CPA lawyer, and her husband Dr. Bill, a heart surgeon and CEO, raise Topher—a geography buff, soccer player, cello prodigy, altar server, scout, and RPG gamer. Their butler Carlisle serves as Topher’s chauffeur and runs the household. Topher flies with his family to the Philippines, Selena’s homeland. One quiet midnight, he spots a glowing shooting star through the plane window—an omen that will later connect his ordinary life to the extraordinary events inside the cave.
