Captain McKinley and Princess Ruana continue adapting to life on a remote island while investigating mysterious electromagnetic disturbances. Around a bonfire at dusk, Ruana admits she misses their comrades at headquarters, and later persuades McKinley to swim with her beneath the sea. Communicating telepathically while exploring vibrant coral reefs, the two grow emotionally closer. However, during the night, three haunting voices lure McKinley away from their shelter and into the ocean. Ruana awakens to find him missing and desperately searches the island before transforming into her mermaid form and crossing the sea. Her search eventually leads her to another island, where McKinley awakens inside a cave beside a strange silent woman. As he explores the cavern, he discovers hidden chambers filled with Ancient Greek artifacts, while Ruana investigates a shattered shipwreck and the skeletal remains of its crew. The mysterious woman reveals herself as a siren, forcing McKinley into a deadly struggle, while Ruana battles the remaining sirens underwater. Though victorious, McKinley is left badly wounded, and Ruana carries him back to safety beneath a violent storm.
Back on shore, villagers aid the unconscious McKinley while Ruana remains isolated on a rocky outcrop, singing mournfully of her love across the sea. The sirens are later revealed to have once served Persephone before Demeter cursed them to eternally lure sailors to ruin. Meanwhile, McKinley discovers the team’s secret heroic activities, leading to rising tensions with Spartan and eventually a violent confrontation between the two. Their conflict is interrupted by the revelation that their grandparents have been taken hostage. Soon afterward, the heroes respond to a mall looting by gangs at Northgate Mall. Police establish a perimeter as seven heroes arrive: Rockstar, Spartan, Love Fey, Cerulean, Bee Girl, Ruana, and McKinley. Love Fey unleashes heart-shaped spinning energy constructs against a gang, while Oppa Rockstar attacks with glowsticks guided by swirling clover leaves. McKinley, equipped with futuristic space armor and advanced weapons, fights directly against the looters as chaos spreads throughout the mall.
During the battle, Bee Girl is shot by the gang leader and collapses, while Ruana is branded a demon by another gang due to superstition. In retaliation, she releases enchanted seafoam bubbles that send the criminals floating helplessly out of the mall. Cerulean forces the gang members into surrender before divine wrath, allowing the police to arrest them, while Spartan prevents the remaining thugs from escaping. Ellie, witnessing Spartan in action, is reminded of her nephew Michael. Ruana heals Bee Girl using restorative waters and warns McKinley that the young heroine is too inexperienced for such dangerous missions. Following his orders, Cerulean reluctantly removes Bee Girl’s transformation shard, returning her to her civilian identity as Sophie. McKinley then commands his sister to abandon field missions entirely for her own safety. Later, Cerulean reveals a prophecy delivered through a dream by the Oracle of Delphi. By reading his mind, Ruana uncovers forgotten memories connected to a mysterious cave incident from three years earlier. McKinley finally realizes that Cerulean’s wish is what unleashed fictional heroes, monsters, and villains into the real world.
As the crisis deepens, McKinley assigns missions across the team. Ruana and Love Fey are sent to investigate disturbances within a forest, Spartan accompanies McKinley to the national library, and Rockstar joins Cerulean on a mission to Europe. In a nearby woodworking village, Ruana and Love Fey encounter two women, Greta and Sari, who describe huntsmen disappearing within the woods. The forest itself proves dangerous, filled with shifting pathways and lurking creatures. Love Fey’s vanity and recklessness increasingly frustrate the cautious Ruana. After surviving attacks from small snakes, the pair discovers Athena’s hidden temple deep inside the forest. Ignoring Ruana’s warnings, Love Fey attacks Medusa directly using a giant heart-shaped assault. Though she succeeds in killing the monster, Medusa’s curse turns her into stone in the process. Ruana returns alone to the forest with the petrified huntsmen, while sealing Medusa’s severed head within a magical sphere of water to prevent further destruction.
Elsewhere, Benjamin and his brother Michael travel to the national library. Benjamin calmly reads an encyclopedia while Michael irritates the elderly librarian for amusement. Suddenly, people inside the library begin disappearing as the building transforms into a supernatural dominion of shifting shelves and moving walls. The brothers escape into a sprawling labyrinth, where Benjamin identifies the Minotaur as the monster in the dominion. Carefully mapping their route while Michael leaves a trail using the Lasso of Valor, the brothers navigate the maze together despite their constant bickering. Eventually, they confront the Minotaur directly. Captain McKinley and Spartan coordinate their attacks, switching combat ranges and fighting as a unified team until they finally slay the beast. Elsewhere, Echidna, Mother of Monsters, mocks Love Fey’s downfall and vanity, but the Oracle of Delphi observes that the brothers’ success proves they are strongest when united despite their differences.
